Clean As a Whistle

There is nothing like the feeling of accomplishing something you set out to do. You feel euphoria, relief, and joy. Judah and I are ecstatic that we finished the 5-Day Nutritive Cleanse.  And it was so easy!  Below is a recap of all five days, including snacks.

Day 1

The first day of the cleanse was fantastic and really easy. We had three shakes, three servings of NingXia Red (which I LOVE), and three snacks. We chose as our snacks 2 tablespoons of almonds in the morning, 1 cup of carrots in the afternoon, and 1 cup of grapes in the evening. Click here to see day one’s video recap.

Day 2

I lost close to one pound, Judah lost three! Day two was a little harder because I had a terrible headache, but I think my body was detoxing so I wasn’t surprised. Our snacks for the day were 1 apple in the morning, 2 tablespoons of almonds in the afternoon, and 1 cup of blueberries in the evening. Click here to see day two’s video recap.

Day 3

Losing two pounds by day three had me so excited. I felt really good and had lots of energy. For snacks I had 2 cups of cantaloupe in the morning, 2 tablespoons of almonds in the afternoon, and 1 cup of grapes in the evening. Click here to see day three’s video recap.

Day 4

I was really surprised when I actually found myself detoxing emotionally. I was not expecting this, but I was so happy for that side effect. I hate hanging on to “baggage” and was happy to get rid of it! But by day four I lost close to three pounds and, while I didn’t have tons of energy, what impressed me about this nutritive cleanse is how easy was.  It’s a very approachable way to cleanse–anybody can do it.

Today my snacks were 1 apple in the morning, I cup of carrots in the afternoon, and 1 cup of vegetable broth in the evening. Click here to see day four’s video recap.

Day 5

It was the last day, already! So happy we did it! Altogether I lost three pounds, while Judah lost 10 pounds. Our snacks today were 2 cups of cantaloupe in the morning, 1 cup of asparagus in the afternoon, and 1 cup of vegetable broth in the evening. Click here to see day five’s video recap.

All in all it was a great week. Young Living recommends that you do this cleanse four times a year, which I think I am going to do. As a matter of fact, I think I will time them to coincide with my capsule-wardrobe change-overs. It’s a great way to remember, don’t you think? Clean out your closet–clean out your body. I love it!

So thank you for coming with me on this journey. If you joined me on the cleanse, I hope you had a great week too. At the very least, I hope you made small choices that helped make your life that much more beautiful.
