How to Use Your Premium Starter Kit Part 5— Commuting to Work

Young Living’s Premium Starter Kit

It’s the moment you have all been waiting for—I am finally ready to leave the house. If you have been keeping up with how I use my Young Living Premium Starter Kit, then you are beginning to see a trend…I use peppermint a lot. Rest assured, I am NOT going to talk about peppermint this week…much.

How do I utilize the oils in the PSK for my commute to work? I use four different oils, but for very different reasons. Would you like to jump in the car with me? I’ll let you call shotgun…

Just before I leave the house, I put a drop of this oil on the bottom of each foot to help boost my overall wellness. It’s especially important if I know I am going to be encountering people. So few people have the sense, or even the ability, to stay home when they are ill. They like to mix amongst us. So I like to protect myself as much as possible.

I also may diffuse this in the car at times—especially if I know that someone carpooling with me is a walking viral plague. Thankfully, its spicy aroma is a crowd pleaser.

Citrus Fresh

Liquid Florida sunshine

Have you ever had someone get in your car and remark about the smell? Perhaps it smells like your last meal at your favorite fast food joint. Or maybe your kid dropped a grape under the car seat and you couldn’t find it right away. So now your car has that unpleasant “fermenting fruit” smell. Well, here’s a suggestion from my car to yours—try diffusing citrus fresh. It’s my go-to car deodorizer.

Lemon, grapefruit, orange, tangerine, mandarin, and spearmint—it’s a citrus explosion with a hint of mint. It’s like liquid sunshine, which makes me so happy. After all, nothing says “Florida” like citrus.

In addition to lifting my mood, however, I also benefit from all the compliments on the amazing smell in the car—that’s because everyone else benefits too. Every time someone gets in the car they say: “It smells so good in here!”

Do you travel with your dog? Do you keep your sweaty gym clothes in the back seat? What about the kids sports gear or backpacks? Those positive comments from others are a good reminder for me to keep diffusing. Keeping the air clean and the car smelling good is a job for Citrus Fresh.

Bright and alert

Anytime I get in the car I want to stay as alert as possible because… other drivers  are crazy! You know. I don’t need to tell you. But I know I need to be on my game when I am driving in Florida. I don’t leave the house without my bottle of peppermint.

Stress Away

Traffic doesn’t have to stress you out

Stress Away is the perfect tool to keep with you when you’re stuck in traffic. It’s stressful driving, no matter how long your commute is, whether you’re going to work, the mall, or the grocery store. We all have just 24 hours in a day, so if you’re goal-oriented like me, traffic can really test your patience. That’s why I love this oil.

Stress Away contains vanilla extract, lime, copaiba, lavender, and cedarwood essential oils. It is a unique blend with a very pleasant smell. But those last three oils have a very calming, relaxing effect on the mood—perfect for driving under stressful circumstances.

So there you have it—how I get to work every day. My car doesn’t smell like McDonald’s, fermenting fruit, or gym clothes. It smells like Citrus Fresh. At other times, peppermint keeps me alert to all the crazy drivers, Stress Away keeps me calm in traffic, and Thieves boosts my wellness to keep me healthy along the way.

So now that I’m at work, how am I going to use my PSK? Stop by the blog next week to find out.
