How to Use Your Premium Starter Kit Part 9—Ready for Bed

After a long day, it’s finally time to unwind and get ready for bed. I use three of my favorite oils from my Premium Starter Kit to help me do this.

 

Stress Away

 

I start diffusing this an hour before I go to bed. This has such a sweet, mild aroma and it just helps me really start to unwind and de-stress. Hence the name Stress Away. 

Vanilla gives this blend its sweetness, and the lavender/cedarwood combination really work well at calming me down. However, Young living also added Copaiba to this blend. Copaiba gives the above oils a 1 – 2 punch as it is believed that, when combined with another oil, Copaiba actually acts as a supercharger and increases other oils’ strength and effectiveness. 

This powerful blend is perfect to diffuse or apply topically when the day, or night, gets away from you and you need to unwind fast.

 

Frankincense

 

Frankincense is known all over the world and has been used since ancient times. The oldest known reference dates back to 1500 B.C.E. in Egypt, and has been used in a variety of ways.

However, I choose to use this beautiful resinous oil as an integral part of my skin care routine. After cleansing, I love putting a couple of drops in my hands and gently patting it on my face. (Of course, I always remember to take a deep breath afterwards.)

This essential oil can help maintain the appearance of radiant skin and may help to even-out skin tone. I feel like my skin glows more than it ever has. In a later blog, we can delve deeper into this fantastic oil and how Young Living uses it in their skin care lines.

 

Lavender

 

My unwind-calm-down-de-stress-go-to-sleep-and-sleep-all-night essential oil. This oil has become an essential part of my bedtime routine. I diffuse it next to our bed, both my side and Judah’s, and I put a drop on the bottom of each foot as I am crawling into bed. 

After that, I cup my hands around my nose and breathe in deeply multiple times. The aroma almost instantly makes me yawn, which is why I use it right before bed (I never drive under the influence of lavender!).

Another great way to use Stress Away or Lavender to unwind from a stressful day is to put a couple of drops in a warm bath along with some Epsom salt. The Epsom salt works well at diffusing the oil in the water so you can enjoy the maximum benefits of the essential oil without any unpleasant side effects. Take my advice on this: never use essential oils in a bath without Epsom salts! Just TRUST ME.
